That dangly thing is a Dunlop, and looks like it is fitted in the correct place.


But I could be wrong, it may be a Goodyear.

Blubber Anomaly Detector. The system was designed to reduce target misidentification between marine mammals and subs.

Greenpeace were interested at one time for finding and tracking whales, until the Navy discovered that it would get swamped by the presence of Wrens.

It's the hose connection for inflating the aircraft prior to flying.
