Unusual Activity Over Wainfleet

Does anyone know what the typhoon was up to this afternoon over Wainfleet? Occasionaly in loose formation with a pair of light aircraft.

Mods, sorry for the spotterishness of this thread in military, just thought it would get more views by the right people.

Taking over the QRA from the Tornado F3 takes a bit of time. Typhoon has started this difficult task by practicing intercepts on small, slow aircraft. In time, it will progress to bigger faster ones.

A pair of Typhoons have been around the Cranditz circuit in very close formation today. Looked pretty good from where I stood.

Apparently they were escorting members of 49 Para who were practising infiltration drops via the LALO method from light a/c.

If it was over water, wouldn't it be LILO?

No the rumour is they are practising Low Altitude Low Opening (moving up to Ultra Low Altitude Non-Opening).

All very hush hush, in fact I've probably said too much already.

Is that a black Omega pulling up outside.....?

They were doing air-to-air photography.

Maybe he was tasked with a flypast and was asking directions from a friendly PPL?

Let's face it, whatever we fly, we're being paid to enjoy ourselves
Or we shouldn't be doing the job

Possible PR

Being involved in the charity Flying Scholarships For the Disabled this year we are conducting a Wings Around Britain Challenge, to fly to around 220 airfields in the UK (including many RAF Stations). Polly Vacher is the pilot and I believe she was at Coningsby for some PR photos with her black/orange PA28 Dakota. So could have been her?
