Here's a recent photograph of 227, but I can't find any mention of an 'event' during its past life.

Many thanks "Forget". It looks sad sitting there.

Distant Voice, Here - from the Horse's Mouth at Woodford.

XV257 was ferried to Woodford on 7th November 1985. It was stored in the open until the scrap merchants broke it up 24/25 March 1993 .
I understand XV227 was withdrawn from service at Kinloss due to "wing damage" but I am unaware of the circumstances. It's suggested that details of the (2004?) incident 'might be on the web' but I haven't found anything. It was ferried to Woodford 1st July 2005 for MRA4 conversion. After external store it entered airframe strip at the end of July 2006. The stripped fuselage (still with old stub wings and undercarriage attached) eventually moved into the MRA4 assembly hall on 29 March 2007 to be PA08/ZJ521.

Forget: Many thanks for the latest information from Woodford. I have looked on the net for any report relating to XV227 incident. As yet nothing found.
