So what's a Harrier doing flying over Peterborough, 10:40 today, at about 2,000 feet trailing white smoke from each wingtip? Go on, surprise me.

I'm trying to recall info from my brain, no docs near to hand at the moment.
The rear portion of the wing tips are home to ESM antennas. I think the fuel vent mast is on the fusilage.

Harrier fuel dumps are indeed on the wing tips.
They comprise two 1.5" outlets located on the RCS fairings on the wingtips, and happily, have a nice useful screwthread, for the techies convenience!!
The fuel Vent is indeed on the fuselage. This is the "Sharks Fin" on the Stb'd side, almost immediately below the Stb'd 'cold' nozzle.

Was the Harrier turning whilst dumping?
Was he dumping fuel or was it contrails off the wing? Generally dumping only happens over the sea.
