National No Smoking Day.
Is smoking encouraged in the RAF? I was in the office yesterday and the NNSD posters were still up. I noticed that the event was endorsed by the RN, the Army and the Defence Dental Organisation. But no RAF. Why? Have you all given up already or are you beyond help?

DD, indeed we have. From 26 Dec no smoking within 3 metres of any structure enclosed by more than 2 walls and a roof.
A bike shed is OK as long as it only has one wall

I well remember the look on an old and bold SSgt's face when he told about 25 of us "Alright lads, ten minutes break, have a smoke" and no-one lit up (or more importantly, offered him one).
It was twenty five years ago.

Gave up 10 years ago.
These National Days are a waste of space. National Courtesy Day was another one. I had a huge row with the bloke in the Newsagents and ended up telling him where to stick his paper bill. So, that is proof they don't work and should be banned forthwith.
