Angry Back to Capped Actual Imprests?

Word on the street is that moves are afoot to yet again put the administration of imprests in line with the rules that govern JPA expenses.
I'm sure we all remember the farce that ensued a year ago when this was attempted. Apparently there will be trials of several systems before it goes live but all expenditure WILL be receipted. A bloke in the pub told me that LYE would be the base chosen to run the trials. Any Albert bretherin out there able to shed any light? Me?..... I can't wait!!!

The RAF stay of execution was only ever a delay.
The rest of us have been suffering it all along.
Unfortunately the FAA are not allowed imprests.

I've heard another rumour that Army & Navy head sheds arent impressed with us having imprests, as it's not in the spirit of jointery/JPA. Maybe it isnt, however, its in the interests of flight safety.

I've seen a co-pilot (on a 2 person flight deck) out of their seat for almost 3 hours on a pond crossing, counting the pennies under the capped actuals system. This was on a relatively small crew. Said person could'nt get it to tally, then back in seat for the last hour for the descent & cheeky X-wind landing. Nice!

We all had to hang around the sqn sorting it out for a good hour afterwards. Just what you need after a 14 hours day. As long as the adminers are happy then to hell with flight safety!

No doubt, our senior officers will put up a 'overarching & robust' argument to maintain the status quo

Ha! thats nothing,

You want to try being the impress mug on a det of 25 for a week and then then taking back all the unspent money (including a carrier bag full of coins) whilst sitting in the starboard beam with the file on your lap trying to balance the books. How much training value on that sortie - F**K all!

I don't own this space under my name. I should have leased it while I still could

Imprest.

Starts neat. Bag of clean folding stuff, big brown envelope full of clean A4 sheets of instructions and forms.

Day 1 - pay out agreed amounts of dosh to eager crowd wanting to get to BX, Bar, Pool or whatever. Collect signatures. Keep first scruffy piece of paper with smaller bag of dosh and try and find hotel safe. Join crowd whereever about one hour later.

Day 2 - pack, get bag from safe, breakfast all while watching bag. Join crowd on bus and start shelling out more dosh against receipts. Stick pile of gash paper in brown envelope in bag. Add in shrapnel. Prepare for next country.

Day 2 - PM, as Day 1 except not in zlotties or rials of whatever.

Absolute PITA and just why most pax aircraft have a copilot!
