Another tragedy bestowed on the rotary community. As is becoming horribly repetitive my heartfelt condolences to family and friends of those involved.

As an aside (and please don't let this observation cause the thread to disappear down a slanging match of who cares and who doesn't) is it a sign of the times or a general change in public opinion, that almost 12 hours after this thread appeared in this military aviation forum mine is only the 2nd reply?

Compare that with similar tragic events in that part of the world from a year or two ago and there does seem a growing acceptance of it becoming almost the norm.

No offence chaps, just an honest observation:

This stuff comes out on the news SO often, that like it or not, people are becoming distanced from it. Anyone in combat ops in Iraq has a good chance of being injured, maimed or killed. People only have a finite cup of sympathy - they keep some for when the cat gets run over. I'm not being nasty, just stating my observations I've done over 22 years in military uniform!

There seems little point in posting when no details have been released so far.
