Chief of Israeli Defence Staff resigns

Lt Gen Dan Halutz resigned today over poor support provided to his troops during last years attacks on Hizbollah and the fact that the 2 major objectives were not achieved: recovery of abducted Israeli personnel and neutralisation of Hizbollah.

Question: WILL WE EVER EVER EVER EVER SEE THIS KIND OF HUMILITY AND INTEGRITY IN OUR SENIOR MILITARY OFFICERS AND (MORE IMPORTANTLY) POLITICIANS?

I'm not saying I feel that our CDS, past or present, must resign but just become more than a government puppet.

Thoughts etc?

...and nothing to do with the Knesset's displeasure at the reported large sale of Israeli shares just before the operation commenced when he was chief of the (c)heyl ha'avir...

Integrity? In our SMOs? Not until pensions and career biographies are safely in the can
