SuperPuma ditch in North Sea

Excellent news that they all got out ok.

Any info on what the reported engine problems were? I'm aware of earlier erroneous Fire Wire detections.

It's amazing how the press report any accident/incident with anything that gets airborne.

Here are three quotes from the same on-line article:

reported engine trouble and PLUNGED into the sea

The helicopter made what we call a CONTROLLED landing at sea," he said.

It was on its way back when it CRASHED, said Frank de Ridder, Coast Guard official.

Look at the rotorheads forum for a bit more info.

As far as I am aware the recent fire warning problems are not related to the Super Puma.
