HI folks
AP3456 Volume 1 , Principles of Flight...

Does it cover rotary as well as fixed wing? Need background reading before my FI(H)....should have done the QHI cse before getting out!

Yes

AP 3456 does cover rotary PoF, but it is heavy going, some tuition will help as will a few lessons to have some effects such as "inflow roll" and "flap back" demonstrated.
