Year before last there was a holding officer at Scampton who had several thousand hrs as an instructor and flying King Airs. Have lost track of him since but he went off to Tucanos.

Yes indeed, he had CPL/IR with all relevant instructional ticks including I think multi-engine. Flew GR1'S in GW1 and then went off to fly for British Midland - probably somewhere better by now ! Top bloke - I think he helped out his JP instructors at Cranwell with their commercial licences whilst they taught him low-level nav etc !!!!!!!!!!!!

Airborne Artist.....yes the Ex London Bus driver was on my course at BRNC/EFTS...top bloke but was chopped (as far as I recall) at EFTS ???
Good thread this one. . . are we really expected to believe however that various "claimed" ATPL's and/or F-16 pilots blagged their way thru OASC and sat in crew rooms open to cross examination and ridicule by their peers?
If so, what the hell sort of third party verification takes place before these guys are appointed?????

Don't believe any of this. Someone will be claiming an unqualified pilot flew some night shifts on a police helicopter unit next......

Fake Sealion - No one told Pete Skinner (who I'm sure you are thinking of) he was chopped. Went Jungly, flew a copper chopper on leaving, now in the LHS of a BMI ali tube.

Good guy, as you say - managed to leave school with knack all quals, went back to evg. classes to get the exams he needed, joined age 25 and about 10 months. Shows what can be done if you want it.
