EFA Show

There's a madman flying around in an EFA with 6x 1000lb LGB's on.

Is he practising for Farnborough?

No, if he were practising for an airshow he'd be clean and flying a barrel roll to miss the ground by 18 inches

It's amazing to see how agile it is with a heavy load.

Bit like the missus.....

Most jets can carry that load, the question is: can it actually go somewhere and more to the point actually deliver them as per the manufacturer's instructions.

It's not the manufacturer's instructions that are important.

It's the customer's.

Fine thought PP. However even they are normally flawed as the people drafting them are somewhat out of date with what the frontline actually needs/wants....even if they are pretty current, by the time the kit arrives they're generally spending their pension!

Sounds about right, alligator, having viewed it from both sides of the fence....the ministry tend to sit on it!

Ref the EFA, he was chucking it about, never seen anything like it!

..... and you'll see a madman chucking another one about from next week with just the one 2,000-lb PW under one wing, with nothing below the other.

Unless it is an EPW, I'd say it's a massive deal....Tits on a fish sans targeting pod!

Think the asymmetry is going to be more of an issue. They got any means of aiming bombs yet, BTW?

If today's weapons create an assymetry issue, buy yesterday's aircraft which don't suffer from such a fate!

LDP work starts soon. Until then you'd need a Tornado/Harrier/Jaguar to spike for you.

Turns out it was a work up for SBAC. Mr B is displaying EFT with six PWII, four AMRAAM, two Winders and a tank at Farnborough on Tuesday (while Mr E has a well-earned lie down) having validated the display today.

Watching him validate, I was sure the weapons were lightweight plastic models, but apparently not.
