Joint Force Harrier

Can anyone say how the Harrier Force is settling in down in Rutland now that the RN are flying the GR7? I am not a journo.

Apart from the fact that some of the SHAR pilots on conversion needed a lot of extra flying hours, and there was a shortage of serviceable 2 seaters, all seems to be going well.

Perhaps if the the guys with the "I" at the end of their qualification had remembered what it stood for they wouldn't have needed extra hours.

I've only been on this froum a couple of months but I've never seen a thread that looks so journoish yet-you might as well admit your a journo!

JAG,

May look like it but I can assure you I am no journo, I just used to be associated with the SHAR force some years ago and have lost touch.

You have to admit though that it looks extremely suspect as your asking ''how is it settling down''-could be a descent story for the local paper and also it is your first post.

A descent story? Thats a joke right? Very clever how he asked "how is it settling down" and you said that it might make for a descent story..... I think you have proved you are not a journo Jag, or is the sun you work for with a pun like that?

I'm not even going to begin to come back because I'll be digging myself into an even bigger hole because anything even related to a journo is frowned upon and extremely sensitive. I think it's common sense what I told in my last post.

Just out of interest, am I correct in saying that there are a couple of Royal Marine Harrier pilots?

I think most journos already know exactly how the conversion of the SHar blokes went.

Can Royal Marines become fighter pilots, its just the latest Marine careers book says you can only fly the Sea King helicopter.

There are at least 2 RM pilots at Cott. And I think there is another in the states (although I could be wrong but I am sure a Harrier mate will soon put me right if I am).

Incidentally, why has the GR7 apparently picked up the nickname 'magic'?

Giblets, have you not seen us float in mid air like a certain magician... I've never heard it called that before... Try any E3D thread...
