Given what is happening with negioiations over JSF will the UK get what we want and if not is JSF really worth the money?

Totally... There is no agreement on technology sharing and probably never will be despite what spin Blair puts on it. Brown, on the other hand, is all set to cancel the new carriers. He has bankrupted the economy and we can't afford them - watch this space.
