Great to see the six Jags turn up in fine style at Lyneham after their appearance over London, wonder if I might be the last chance to see these lovely machines at my local en masse...

New RAF Plane

The flypast also got a mention from the radio commentators at the England v Sir Lanka cricket match at Lords although a plane new to me was part of the parade a "Tycoon"

(according to a H Blofeld)

Typhoons, Globemaster, Tristar, Tornados and the rest - you made my day as you flew over a boring Oxford today.

Thanks

Trooping the Flypast!!!

Hi Gang;

Obviously from the moniker...you know that I am one of the C130s finest (Hmmm)...

Saw the Flypast Blah today on the Beeb an it was splendid....!!!

No C130 (of either type)..although there was a 'K' on MCT and a 'J' doing the Tac Demo..(sorry Flying Display) thing!! No C17 either (noted)!!

There seems to be a lot of spare Tonkas around at the mo though...plus a serviceable VC10 and Tri*......

Might have been a better bet to get Holding Command to fly a few of those KingAir things and a Dom or 2....

LAter;

Great FlyBy and .........

................A great tribute to a great woman.
The flying was spot on, as to be expected. The BBMF started the lump, stirred by th VC10 and the Reds with the Canberra just brought tears to the eyes.
The 41 gun salute and the cheering Guards, all fantastic. Only saw it on TV, being there would of made no difference.
You guys and girls, away from home at the moment. Just get home safe and sound, no exceptions, make me a lot happier.
Good luck, God speed to you all

It would have been nice to have seen the Fleet Air Arm and the AAC make a contribution. The RAF is not the only a branch of the military that takes to the skies.

Heard the 41 gun salute and saw the flypast from my bedroom window. Top notch job by all concerned. I had no idea we had 49 serviceable a/c.

But should be

Come on.. the old Queen didn't have time to sit and wait whilst some choppers took an hour to fly past

Flypast

Navaleye, I'm with you !

BTW, Now that the Navy pilots are stuck using the mud movers too, I wonder how they get on 'against' their light blue colleagues in ACM, Pass-a -Frozo ?

Rather well I should think.

I was amused at the commentator mistaking the Lancaster as a Spitfire and having to correct himself shortly afterwards.

But what about all those scruffy Guardsmen? That horrifically ragged right-dress line on Horse Guards and the shabby rifle drill...

Good Lord! Whatever's become of our army? Too much time in the sand-pit and not enough at Pirbright I suppose

Wonder if the Taffs picked up that firing into the air routine from the locals on Telic?
