See here. Which, if you remember a few months back, ties into the weasel words used by the the programme director when he was testifying to the Commons defence committee and could not be pinned down on the question as too whether we would be getting the same aircraft as the USMC....

I would like to say I'm surprised - but Uncle Sam never exports the same technology that he has himself - it is only the Brits and French (and probably the Russians) who give the customer better kit than they have themselves! A timely reminder to all those on these boards who advocate buying US that even though Tony is George's best mate, the old adage of looking after oneself is more improtant than keeping your mates happy!
