Question Redundancy 2 payments

I have now been a civie since 10th April having left the RAF with tranche 2 redundancies after 23 years. Unfortunately, or maybe not judging from some other threads, I do not have access to the JPA system or even a voice at the end of a phone. (Where have all the adminers gone?) So, anyone know when the redundancy and gratuity payments will be made? I'm still waiting and have heard nothing. I really need a new surfboard....
Any help gratefully received.
Aloha.

For a progress update on your redundancy payout you can contact JPAC in Glasgow on 0141 224 3600 or 0800 085 3600 (Same Number). If you raise a query they have 24 hours to respond.

I'm still waiting for my payments as well despite the claim on the redundancy paperwork that it should be with you in 5-10 working days..........

Cool

Gone Surfing,

if you don't get paid, maybe you could put in a claim for a new living room picture window, or does that only work in previous scottish accomodation? Hope the surf is good, and you are better at it than you were at skiing in Deux Alpes! (if you are who I think you are then this will make sense, if not sorry!)

Pm me if it does make sense,

Thanks for the info; guess the new kite quiver will have to wait.
Old'n'bold...Les Deaux Alpes, yep I was there and I did have an uninvited car redecorate my house in Forres, so I guess I am who you think I am!! I'll pm you when I figure out how; right now the wind is up and I'm off to the beach. Later, and thanks again.
Aloha!

I`m a fellow Tranche 2 redundee and those fine folk at JPAC told me that the Gratuity payments will be made between 24th April and the 5th May.

However if we assume that your Gratuity payment is made on the 5th that only gives Paymaster 5 days to put you on their system and arrange the first payment. At the Pension brief i attended last year they said that the date of the first payment would be set in stone for all monthly payments.

Have i overdone the words "payment" and "payments".

Legalised Robbery

Contacted Glasgow (twice) today; first time directed by Glasgow to an answering machine in Army Admin; second time I was informed that pension gratuities and redundancy payments had been "delayed" and it was hoped to pay everyone by 9 May. I asked when Glasgow had been informed of this and they told me they had been informed by the RAF redundancy cell yesterday.
I then called the redundancy cell and was informed that they had had to implement legislation allowing them to pay monies owed, up to 30 days after 10 Apr 06. The excuse offered: the exceptionally high number of personal leaving meant it was taking longer to process and calculate the individual amounts (only known since last year) and that they were trying to contact all redundies to warn them. I suggested that it might be helpful if this was advertised in the redundancy paperwork and was told yes it was unfortunate!
I cannot help but see the the hand of the treasury in this (too clever for the MOD beancounters) consider:
1. Instead of redundancies being effective 30 Apr o6 as originally advertised that date is moved to 10 Apr 06.
Result
a. 20 days pay saved per man.
b. 20 days increment to pensions etc saved.
c. Redundancy payments and gratuities said to be paid in 5-10 working days after 10 Apr (5 days last year I believe) but with Easter the tenth day becomes 25 Apr; Interest on all that money for two weeks; several million pounds.
2. 1. above is definitely a promotion earner but if, as has happened, you then delay payments to 9 May 06, a whole month's interest is saved and no one can complain.
I can see a letter to my MP coming on but I am kept warm by the thought that Dr Reid is aware of the overstretch to the Armed forces and offers his gratitude to those of us who served in the last 3 "wars" and to our families. It comes as no surprise that we are being treated as shoddily after leaving the services as we were whist serving, but at least nobody is shooting at me anymore and I see my family.

Can we kill off this thread? It is sooooooo depressing for the rest of us that remain behind, sadly overlooked by the selection criteria for tranche 3...

South Bound, I hear you. My PVR papers were all ready completed...it was my time to go regardless of the exit manner. I feel for those not picked up but there are other ways. I had just had enough of the lack of leadership and the 'look after yourself' culture that had become so prevalent.....but I guess that is another thread!
