RETURN OF SERVICE??????

Just a quick one. Can anyone please tell me the exact return of service required for NCA? Is there any difference between direct entrants and serving Airmen with regards to the return of service? Does it start post OCU or once CR etc? I have heard 3 years and 6 years. Unable to get to required documentation just now due to deployment.
Thanks in advance.

I'm probably hopelessly out of date but last I heard (in the 90's) DE's signed on for 12 years and Serving Airman had to commit to 22 years.

The Answer is given in Defence Information Notice: DIN 2006DIN02-101: Tri-service Policy for Training Return of Service, Annex A Serial 5.

For Initial Flying Trg including first OCU or CFS and training on change of branch/specialisation.
The Trg ROS is 72 Months (60 months for the Army).

Trg RoS will normally commence on the completion of the course.
However, the Trg RoS is incurred from the start date of the course and may
be applied subject to Service needs at any time, irrespective of the final
course outcome.
For those who have Intranet access the DIN is here:
