Red Bull Flying
Having recently seen some of the Red Bull air races on sky, what is the general concensus of the flying ability of these pilots?
For me I think its a very impressive dislay of low acurate flying skills.
On their site they also have the last flying sea vixen or so they say, and only two pilots in the world are capable of flying her.
The next races are to be held at Longleat in september.

I saw them fly last year in Longleat - and was VERY impressed. Was an absolutely cracking day - very hot, no shade, and a lengthly stroll to the car park at the top of a hill (which isn't good in the heat - especially with the high numbers of unfit fatties present - coughing and wheezing their way up the hill!).
Flying wise it was excellent. Very accurate and very low level stuff, literally weaving between trees and trying to make the tight turns to get through the gates. I was very impressed.
If you get the opportunity, go and see it. It's a free day out - last years tickets were allocated via the interweb and a registration process. Oh - and they classify a minibus as a car - so you can take 17 people rather than 4 without any issues!

I'd like to see them compete in some aerobatics comps against the best current 'unlimited' UK pilots, and see how they fair before I said.
Saw the longleat one last year, though from behind a sea of heads, and it was impressive... if only for the extreme low level which is very gutsy.

All in good time! We need more people to have a go at it! More young'uns are required in the sport. But it's so expensive a hobby it's a wonder there aren't more. I think a few more scholarships like Diana Britten's are required.

most of them already are unlimited and if you have a most gentle google you'll see that there are already some Uk Unlimited in there, jones , Bonhomme and Nigel Lamb.

Th UK Pilots came 7th 8th and 9th first run this season.
Simple fact is , the UK Pilots will not win using the Extra 300s.
