The boys are back in town!

Today saw the opening and dedication of a memorial garden at Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield (Psst, its Finningley!)

Current and previous aircrew were there, some lovely old blokes.... 'it was Halifaxes and Lancs in my time son!' Jumpers for goalposts etc

Top marks to the former Finningely,

At least the past has been recognised!

A fitting memorial to our predecessors and good to see our lot back there too!

Oooh Matron!

Talking of Oooooh Matron. Does anyone know who re-titled the Matron car parking slot outside Akrotiri Mess? I always thought that was hilarious but someone in recent years has seen fiit to get rid of it.
Sign of times I suppose.
Fun no longer allowed.

Is there another plaque for the later (post-1949) units?

(Maybe with an RAF badge and mention of its real name, Finningley?)
