Interesting helicopter formation over High Wycombe tonight!

Wondering if anyone here can shed any light on what an unusual formation of helicopters was doing over High Wycombe tonight at about 18:30 local, and a Friday night!

As we drove pass EGTB, a line astern formation consisting of a Puma, EH101, Chinook and S/R Sea King passed by at about 1500' agl and heading south.

Fantastic sight and sound under low, dark and ominous looking clouds.

It was a flypast for the 3 Gp disbandment dinner.

{Edited after reading the "AWACS and SAR Seaking over Benson" thread!}

Thanks Plastic, I saw the "AWACS and SAR Seaking over Benson" thread just after I posted my question.

BEagle,

Fully concur, but with the dwindling of FW and RW fleets, at least a few of our minimal finest are noticed.

Yeah, no what you mean Beagle. It was just the fact that it was 4 disparate types flying in close line astern formation under a dark heavy sky that mad it interesting, to me at least. From where I was, they passed low overhead and the sound of all those engines under a low cloud base was quite impressive!
