AWACS and SAR Seaking over Benson

Have just been watching an AWACs doing circuits over my house and a yellow Seaking has just taken off from Benson. Am nosey! Any ideas or just coincidence that both are around at the same time. It's 1815 on Friday evening.

We're practicing for the invasion of Iran .... your detachment notice should be with you next week

Or alternatively, they were just forming up for the fly past at 3 Gp HQ which is having its disbandment dinner tonight

Strangely there's been an E3 buzzing Newbury/Basingstoke area (well - the area between) for some of last week, and then Benson/Pangbourne on Friday. With the lack of fixed wing RAF traffic over southern England, well, our area anyway, are the RAF just trying to justify tax payers money..

I saw the E3 thundering around the open FIR in West Berks last Tues (28th).

Indeed an unusual sight in this part of the World.
