Scary beast.

Should this join the increasingly long list of British ideas that can only be developed by America because they will leave no stone unturned in trying to achieve technological excellence over the rest of the world?

Ingenuity is but one part of the equation, implementation is the other. Talking about something and actually doing it are two different kettles of fish.

You reckon there might be some field testing scheduled in the near future....say someplace very sandy and rocky.

But surely that would be classed as very, very naughty. The thing must be against some sort of International Convention. Still (probably) better than using a bucket of sunshine (which are legal to use) to kill a high value bunker.
