Why NOT to join the RAF

My local TV Weathergirl has spilled the beans on the real reason.

I knew there had to be a reason other than the T&C....

Initially wanting to be a fighter pilot she decided she disliked the blue jumper/wool skirt uniform
It never bothered me!

I think THIS bit's a little disturbing myself...
excited about setting up ... home in Tunbridge Wells!

Maybe she should have joined the Luftwaffe. Aren't their jumpers and skirts a fetching shade of grey?

Though not one of the two-winged master race, I think I'd be accurate if I said that few (if any) fighter pilots often wear blue jumpers and wool skirts. In the cockpit, at any rate. Who wears wool skirts anyway (apart from the Scots)?

Bizarre...

Though not as pretty as Biggles' weather-girl, this forecaster has more solid RAF credentials: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/bbcweat...ylor_faq.shtml

"she disliked the blue jumper/wool skirt uniform and so fell back"

Hmmm... 'FELL BACK'

OR...

Did she just have the integrity not to "fall back" on her own back.

Then "fall" 'with-child'.

And claim squillions from HMG for being 'wrongly' sacked for not adhering to her 'contract'. And waste a couple of million quids of dosh during wasted flying training.

On the other hand, the idiots who so love following the RAC or any other uniform 'trend-setter' may be wholly responsible for the RAF not getting this particular lady recruited. Are the uniform deciders about to be moved out of Innsworth BTW or are they already buried within the corporate HQ?

Oh, and by the way.

[On- theme - she quotes being evacuated to Egypt.]

If President Tony firmly belived that there was a clear and immediate danger (45 minutes) to the Brits in Cyprus, why did he not order their evacuation or order appropriate self-protection (NBC) kit to be isssued to them all?!

Hell, I wanted to be a fighter pilot, but had the much more convincing excuse having 4 eyes, and an unyeilding attraction to kipper ties and sandals with socks....

Mind you, shes worried about the skirts being itchy (must have been a cadet in a former life to know that!), and then went into a profession where everyone has a beard....?

Have you been in prison? She looks like someone carved a haloween pumpkin.

Stand aside,

I consider myself something of an expert in these matters:

Lara Lewington Channel 5 Weather girl

http://www.victorianpages.freeola.com/llewington.html

Joanna Rice Sky News Weather girl "The Weather in Leather"

http://skynewscentre.co.uk/viewpictu...ery=joannarice

Only problem is, I am always left wondering what the weather will be!

Join the Met Office and see the world!!

Extract from Matt Taylor's Met Office Career:

'The bulk of the next three and a half years were spent working at RAF Cranwell, in Lincolnshire, but he also got to the opportunity to undertake detachments as far a field as Aberdeen and Hemsby, near Great Yarmouth'.

Keep it up son and one day you'll make it to Exeter, or even Inverness!

Aeronut - not a Channel 5 / Sky weather viewer, but thanks for those links! Lara Lewington appears to be, errmmmm, endowed with some good assets (despite the mole on the left one!! ), but the nasal profile appears a bit hooky (not that I'm much of a one to talk!!).

Joanna Rice - looks a bit 'jolly hockey sticks' - presenting in a cricket jumper and buttoned-up sailors blazer indeed!

Andrea McLean from GMTV could do the job for me, if she begged for long enough!

I'm sorry, but it's Helen Willetts that does it for me.

I'd get my coat, but it's a bit warm out!
