Edinburgh Tattoo in Oz

Watched the 'down under' version of the Edinburgh Tattoo last night.

I smiled with approval at the RAF Regiment's Drill Squad; winced at the commentators' ignorance of matters military; inwardly groaned at the emerging trend of singing Julie Antony look-alikes in uniform ; but definitely "dips me lid" at the Band of HMs Royal Marines who looked and sounded just as good as they did at BRNC Dartmouth over 40 years ago.

And that's before we get to the Massed Pipes and Drums – who were just magnificent.

Well done, chaps!
