Aircraft damage/loss report - Sea Harrier has highest damage rate

From the MoD

There were a total of 33 aircraft lost or damaged1 in air accidents from 2000 to 2003.

The damage rate tends to be higher when the aircraft first come into service.

The Sea Harrier (including RN Harrier T4 and T8) has a higher damage rate than any other aircraft type for all periods.

1 Lost or damaged aircraft covers aircraft damaged beyond economic repair or missing, and damage that is not repairable on site because special facilities or equipment are needed.
