Devil A Question for Buffy?

If you were to have the pleasure of meeting the Rt Hon Geoffrey Hoon what question would you ask him?

Why do you not stand up for HM Forces against HMT, DSS, DofH etc etc when we are underfunded, undermanned, facing severe overstretch and when those that you have invested in (as our future leaders ie those who have done ASC, ICSC, ACS etc etc) are leaving at their first opportunity?

just expect an answer along the lines of
"you are not underfunded, undermanned or overstretched. in fact this is a wonderful period where the forces are recieving more than ever before. people are not leaving at higher than normal rates, though those that do leave are merely helping in the drawdown of numbers in the service. we will have less servicemen but these will be better supported and better equiped than ever due to this labour govt."
have had this line given to me by a couple of govt types now and scarily i think that they actually believe that this is true

My question for buffoon....

When are you going to resign your position with the government and stop destroying our armed forces?

Can't wait for the answer!

Question time....

Mr Hoon.
Do you not think that someone in your's and Mr Blair's position should have previous service in the Armed Forces to qualify them to ask other people to go half way across the world and wage war?

Mr Hoon,

How do you justify your lack of military expenditure, when the yanks nick name our troop the 'borrowers', due to our soldiers being ill,and under-equiped?

Can't stand the man.

Mr Hoon

How'd you get to be so inept - does it take practice or were you just born that way?

Hello - Mr Hoon, Who do you think is best placed to lead one of the most traditional and respected armed forces in the world - an MP with some experience serving in the Armed Forces, or a kinniving, spineless ex- lawyer who will do what ever his slimy boss tells him and be non-accountable for any of it?

Just a question - nothing meant by this!!

I have to disagree. I believe that the Secretary of State for Defence should NEVER be selected because of his previous history as having served in the Armed Forces. Im sure that having a SofS with the qualities of Mr Hoon is far more acceptable than having an ex soldier in the post. Or to that matter an Ex serviceman of any branch. Nope, I think we are doing ok with Mr Hoon and long may he reign. If you don't like him you can alwasy vote in Mr Soames. Now theres a chap I'd like to see climb down from an F3. Wouldn't that be fun, watching him try to get into a Challenger?

But if he is to be believed then the Conservative party will increase spending on defence to a tune of £2.7 Billion. So where are they going to get this money from? Increase Taxes? Borrow it... or whats more likely is that it will be

we will be able to transfer savings from other departments into the defence budget as well as making major savings in the vast and inefficient bureaucracy of the Ministry of Defence.
Sounds like another Defence "review" to me.

Nope. To be honest it doesn't matter who the SofS is. Whether he be an ex Serviceman or an accountant. We will still get shafted.

Met the man. Didn't like the man.
My question would be 'How long before jointery turns into one fighting force?'
All of us then uniform in bellbottoms with a staple belt, a DPM jacket and a field service cap with a sword/eagle/anchor badge on it.

Then at least I could be the equivalent of a 23 year old Staff Sgt

Clearly one who has no idea whatsoever of the inner workings of a Force he is 'Overlord' to.

Why is it that the current Cabinet makes my skin crawl, let alone not having an ounce of respect for them?

Has it ever been this bad before?
