Ok, not quite Aircrew, but i'm sure some will have comments to make.

Its a shame that going to war and some of the brave lads dying had to occur to save the regiments.

there isn't any room for trims and cuts these days and geoff hoon needs a reality check fast before more of our lads die. lets put him in the desert with sub standard equipment and see how long he lasts. Jokes over geoff, leave us be......( but a pay rise would be nice!)

Well, I certainly hope that these proud and historic regimental identities remain intact.

But this article doesn't go that far, unfortunately. There's still an element of doubt in it but I think that it would be the death sentence of the Labour government in Scotland if the regiments do not retain their status......
