Ihre Deutsch ist ganz gut!

Which is probably wrong since my German 'O' level was 39 years ago......

Grumpy old man - you libellous so-and-so, tittyhead! But yes, keep the forum free. Some of us have been heavily lent on by certain $hits who don't like free speech - they would have loved the Stasi!

Tsch! (shakes head in disbelief) Anyone would think that there's some kind of democracy here. IT'S A DICTATORSHIP AND DON'T YOU FERGEDDIT!

Talk about wasting your breath... some of you have an awful lot to learn about PPRuNe.

I think we're all well aware of the dictatorship status!

There are plenty of people in here with strong, differing and sometimes sane opinions and this is what makes this the richest of the public fora. We may not all agree - we rarely do - but the diversity of discussion is both rich and rewarding.

Some of the contributors take some flak (I have on occasion), some of them deserve it (I have on occasion) but if it was closed it would also be dead - or at least deadly dull.

Hell, I even get to communicate with pongo pilots in here - you would not get me doing that willingly in the real world.

Who would it be restricted to? Current military aircrew? Pilots only? Closed for aircrew on ground tours? How would elligibility be proved and controlled? Maybe it should be renamed "Military Aviation" rather than "Military Aircrew".

Fur " Ü ", schriebt mann "UE". So ist "MÜLLER" wie "MUELLER" geschriebt.

as a first time ppruner and new member of the mil aircrew genre, i say keep it free, let all speech be free, and if jungly aeo wants to attack the raf, let him, perhaps we should even have a seperate thread for that purpose!you can't close it down to mil aircrew only, it'd be dull. remember "the team works"!,even in the raf!

In my (rather late) defence, the phrasing of my original post was not intended to be at all divisive, nor was I suggesting a closed forum. I was merely pointing out that this was a website for specialists, and as such it made sense to post remembrance messages which are directly pertinent to our profession.

As it happens, I have always been particularly rear-crew friendly, and would not dream of trying to exclude the views of others, whatever their background or experience. One of the best CRM courses I have ever been on was so good because of the mixture of people on it, and I consider the varied opinions of others to be vital to an effective and safe operation.

That said, no matter what I think, it's still the Professional PILOT'S Rumour Network.

Well that's it then

Anyway, ever the one for choice; for those of us who are not pilots and in the military there is always http://www.militaryforums.co.uk/forums.php
For those of you who are not pilots and not in the military - I'm still looking

PS - I wonder if PPrunes advertising rates will go down if the subscriber base drops
