eBay Problems Continuing?

Cruising through eBay UK today and came across this - I feel questions should be asked, does anyone agree?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...531620853&rd=1

In case the link doesn't work it appears to be a FJ mate's survival vest complete with a beacon and some of the other survival goodies still in it.

Bad Livin' - If what is said above is true then YES - This person should definitely be investigated. This does not sound like surplus Military equipment. I notice he's also selling a helmet.

Not wanting to jump on any bandwagon here, but I would be gobsmacked if this sort of kit was available with working PLB!
He is either lying about it working or the buyer is going to get a large bill when the yellow chopper pitches up when they pull the cord!

Guys you need to get out a bit more if you have the time to search eBay for these random air force things.

If the guy wants to sell an LSJ from his pad in the suburbs without a stole then good luck to the person buying it if they want to pay money for that crap.

Anyway isnt it a Sarbe beacon and not a greaser or whatever and the flat silver packets last time i looked and drank from them, had water in, not sea dye.

Personally I couldnt care less.

This sort of thing does concern me as a taxpayer!

I once went into a military surplus store in Hong Kong and saw a full set of almost brand new looking cold weather flying gear complete with pilot's brevet and 7 Sqn badges. As I had just left the mob I jokingly said "I wonder if that's the stuff I just handed in?" It wasn't but it was immediately apparent that it had once belonged to an RAF colleague of mine who was still serving, complete with a brand new and presumably privately bought, wings and name badge. They said it had come from a supplier near London.

He claims it's "surplus," bought from the manufacturer, and the PLB doesn't have a battery.

Who buys these?

Its a Jackonory about how the RAF (was) is great and what all new recruits and hossifers need to be taught.

Or put simply, a needless amount of money has been spent to give everyone in the RAF a book that they will not look at once they get it, and contains stuff which is all in the public domain anyway, we have managed for 80 odd years without it, and could have managed a few more.

But at least you now get a rucksack to keep it in , costing even more money, but you can keep the rucksack in the useless kitbag, and also keep the useless best blue in there as well. Another item for the loft/garage.

Thanks for that!

It's all about using money more effectively and sparingly.....clearly the RAF don't! No change there then!

For Little Me:

The AP 3003 is a new publication, presumably produced at great expense, and currently being issued to serving RAF folks. It's a history of the RAF, but not just a brief one, it's going to make a hell of a table leg prop! But if, like me, you're far too busy to read it, you can look at all the lovely glossy pictures. Oh, and poke fun at the 'culture section' around about page 361 or 365, which is a blatant attempt to prove the RAF is fully multi-cultural. Nice!

Actually, it's pretty good for those who know nothing of our illustrious past and hard earned reputation as the best in the business, and perhaps the Government should take note before the next round of defense cuts.

How was OASC by the way?

Long Time No Hear Bad Livin'

Hey there BL,

If I know you, you were probably searching eBay for something to remind you of the good ol' days!
Just a quickie, but did you buy the said vest, and were you wearing it as you typed this thread!?

You know I am only joking, will catch up soon perhaps?
