Gulf War MkI Press Association Video
Morning chaps,
Question for you....
About 11 years ago whilst at Cranwell on a UAS liaison visit, one of the Flt showed a video of various fast jet clips backed by the Whitesnake ditty 'Here I go again'. Apparently it was compiled by the press chaps toward the end of the skirmish. Does anyone know where I could find this video to download?
Thanks for any info
Kaimes

The same question was raised on this forum not so long ago and from memory the conclusion was that it isn't on the web yet. There was a second one done to a Phil Collins soundtrack plus various out-takes from the journos. The BBC also did one to an Eminen track for Telic.
Champagne anyone...?
I have a copy of the video - think I nicked it from Cranwell......
I'll see if I can somehow turn it into a digital copy if required or I can run off a copy on VHS.

Stop Start,
Is that the video colloquially known as the "Boys From Bahrain" compiled by GMTV? It has a CVR of a GR1 on an attack run on the early days of the air war followed by various outtakes of various bomber mates looking 'tired and emotional'.
I saw it several years ago and have been desperate to get hold of a copy. Any gen would be gratefully recieved.

Likewise anywhere I can get a copy. Only seen it twice last at the museum at Cosford in their GW 1 exhibition a few years ago. Pity they do'nt market it.
Champagne anyone...?
Just had a look at the vid - first bit is "The Boys From Bahrain" - lots of GR1 stuff but no commentary, just some plinky music over the top. Quite a few clips of "the chaps" but unfortunately no audio of what they're saying. The second bit is the TV-am clip: Jags, Buccs etc etc to Whitesnake's "Here I Go Again On my Own". There's no commentary on it all or any CVR, sorry.
I'll see if I can burn it off onto DVD

Stoppers,
Suggestion: Burn it to CD and flog some CDs, price £X made out to RAF Benevolent Fund, or Stoppers Champagne fund, or whatever.
I'll take one!

Stoppers - I don't suppose it features your old QFI saying "Scuds? Pah. No sweat. It could be worse - I could be back at Abingdon vainly attempting to teach stall turns to young Stoppers and his chums...."
No Hawaiian shirts then either, I guess.....

If you produce copies count me in for one, obviously suitable donations would be made to your choice of organisation.

Chaps,
If we get it going, please count me in.
I have an old VHS version, but DVD would be better.
Kind regards
The Swinging Monkey
ps Anyone know a company that may be prepared to take it on?
