Happy retirement, Bob.

A proud career to look back on, very well done, shame to see you go - but it makes me realise I'm no spring chicken meself!

All the best Bob,
Your wire straightening days may be over but you've left plenty of SAR photos for us to remember you by.
Have a happy retirement,
Hugh S.

I watched the SAR documentary when it was screened and would like to add my best wishes to Bob for his retirement.

A couple of years ago I did an Ambulance Escort from St Marys
Hospital in Manchester to a yellow machine that was flying a new born infant down south, Bob was the contact at the resue co- ordination centre, still involved in the protection of the new born.

I hope it will be possible for him to see this thread,

Terry ( Ex RM)

I saw a feature regarding Bob,s retirement on the BBC Scotland News last night where he came face to face with the lad he saved. It left me quite humbled.

I remember Bob well from our time at Brize on the VC10 in the early 80s. I was just another brand new First Officer at the time but I have Bob to thank for some cracking hangovers in Germany.

All the best mate.

Brize on the VC10 in the early 80s. I was just another brand new First Officer
...and there was me thinking VC10s had co-pilots. Is that hissing noise I hear steam coming from BEags' ears...

But back to the thread. Bob P figures in my log book quite a bit too (but never in the yellow ones!), so many congratulations on past service Bob and best wishes for the future.

And if Bob is 60, then I must be ...... oh b%ggar!
