Military Personnel - An Easy Inland Revenue Target? A new conspiracy theory!
On the first day of my retirement from the service after 35 years, all I received was one of those infamous Medical Centre printouts whingeing about some PME appointment they thought I'd missed.
And I'm still bŁoody annoyed that, although I'd served there for 20 years, the stn never invited me to a dining-out. Instead, I had to pay to attend a 'Wing Dinner' - and the engraved tankard and hip flask which I'd asked for from my sqn fund contributions were brought round to the flying club in a poly bag by a chum.
Pretty well summed up what the Service had become by the time I left. Any self-important wheels reading this, I'll be happy to provide you with the names of the unbelievably crass man-mismanagers involved
