T-! Jayhawk engine cutoff

Question: Does the T-1 have a separate engine start/cutoff switch or is it a detent on the throttle/thrust lever? I have been told that it is a detent on the throttle/thrust lever...which would lead me to believe that it would be easy to "accidentaly" shut down the engine. Thx

Luckybreak - Perhaps he's just bought one and can't get it started?

No...it happened to a friend in pilot training...it sounds like its an extremely poor design. Could get real exciting in a rapid decompression!

So why don't you just ask your friend where the switch is? If it happened to him I'll put money on him knowing it's location!

Talked to one of the original flight test members today...the cutoff is on the throttles. Great design, expecially when you don't have an ejection seat. Hate for the detents to be soft in the pattern.
