brandnew.

Do PLEASE succumb to temptation because now you can only be likened to a bothersome brat.

You are becoming rather irksome and yet another thread is in danger of becoming a bitchfest because you have not yet learned to banter.

BTW - Pray tell in what way ABIW has spouted uninformed nonsense about Apache on this thread when he merely informed me that he had been threatened with GBH (by one of yours) via a couple of PM's

Now, be a good laddy and retire to the creche where you can jape with those of a similar mental capacity.

E5.

Edited for spelling mistake

from ABIW "ISITD...........beware young man as your comments could stir things up again .......and according to a Gov't spokes person interviewed on Aunty Beeb last week it's not 6....it's only 4[apaches]"

Sod it; it's all yours. I'm off. Will recommend others do the same.

Lie and "banter" away. Never let the truth get in the way of anything. Pathetic.

Question

Who on earth is this bloke? Am I missing something - has a post been deleted?
Brandnew - I can assume from your name that you're a crow - retrieve your teddy from the corner and when you decide to post again relax and get a sense of humour!!!

In BN's defense, a position I find myself some what uncomfortable with , I did remark in rely to ISITD on reported AH numbers.

But I hasten to add my information was based on a a direct quote from a government minsister being q'd on the chinook debacle by the BBC....................and as it was in colour it must be feckin true

Off to the back garden to dig a slit trench and stack up with provisions as this conformation of my heresay can only end in more tears

I thought this was a forum for "Professional Pilots..." (OK, we stretch the boundaries to include all aircrew categories). But how can anyone call themslves "professional" aviators when they regard themselves as primarily members of another profession - eg, soldier or sailor?

Question

For the record, the Apache project is in fact in good shape and training of new aircrew is continuing apace.

In fact, as good a shape as I am in for the London Marathon, just after all that Easter chocolate!!

Oh Dear, it's tomorrow isn't it?

Pity I can't adjust the date to give myself an EXTRA 3 WEEKS !

Are all Army types so touchy?
I thought everyone knew God wore Airforce blue
Must be the Army's inferiority complex kicking in!

Hey Bullet Tooth Tony,

It seems that it is you that tends to turn threads into slanging matches.

Personal insults and false quotes should stay in PM's or on Jet Blast. (quote: there is a place for banter :unquote)

Practise what you preach young man!

I would have PM'd you on this, but as you like to alter them and then post, I thought I'd cut you out of the loop.

Good evening. Now for some adult comment.

RN = 100% professional, 95% all round good eggs, 5% to$$ers

RM = 100% professional, 95% all round good eggs, 5% to$$ers

Army = 100% professional, 95% all round good eggs, 5% to$$ers

RAF = 100% professional, 95% all round good eggs, 5% to$$ers

MOD = ???% professional, 5% all round good eggs, 95% to$$ers

'Nuff said?

Sorry BT Tony,

Confused you with someone else with the same agenda.

Apologies for the PM reference to you in the last line.

I have just returned from a trip abroad and have read, with interest, this thread.

Being an Ex Army Pilot I have had the privilege of flying within RAF, Navy and RM (as was) establishments and have found that the proportions of to$$ers to good eggs are pretty equal across the services. One thing of note is that the RAF crews seem to be the more self opinionated, the Army seem to scared to celebrate the fact that they are pilots and the RN seem to obsessed with having a good time.

IMHO you understand.

I'm an ex AAC NCO pilot too, and agree that service pilots and aircrew regardless of which cap badge they wear do a thoroughly professional job in their own specialities, whether or not they are commissioned.
My only small observation (NOT criticism !!) when I was with an airmobile brigade in the 80's was the limitations placed on the support Puma crews by the different rules they had to conform to. It often meant them leaving an exercise to go and change crews half way through a brigade move (when their role was essential), leaving half the equipment in one location and the other half in the boondocks, a ridiculous scenario.
On the subject of careers etc, in the AAC it always seemed that it was considered an enhancement for an officer to do the pilot's course (it counted towards their promotion education requirements), while it was the death knell for NCOs, especially those who came form other regiments/corps.
No shoulder chips, I promise !!

The AAC themselves used to post zap stickers wherever they went, declaring " You are being flown by
Teeny Weeny Airways Taxi Service".
That'll be TWATS then

Am sorely tempted not to bother posting or logging on anymore. This place is in danger of becoming some sort of single service incestious joke where people can effectively lie and be allowed to continue doing so without any say from anyone else.
Bit like ARRSE then

Quagger,

Correct, I did post such a thing and yes , that is exactly what was inferred.

All taken in the humour it was intended and apppreciated by all too! We all knew we had different special skills and allowed all to get on with the job they were trained to do.
