Royal Air Farce

Anyone else getting seriously p***ed off with this waiting game we re all playing? Not really looking forward to the outcome of the Tuesday meet but at least it'll stop all this rampant rumour-milling. And on the upside, if (when..?) I do get removed from FJ at least I won't have to put up with certain 'big fat blubbery whales' at Valley for a year.

Do we really have to start another moaning thread, I think this meeting has been inflated quite enough.

Would you like fries with that?

I have every sympathay with the guys who are in an uncertain predicament at the moment, but it certainly doesn't help by whinging.

If you don't like it, vote with your feet - I'm sure the Royal Air Force won't stop you.

Bye!

Well, I think that they've got every reason to bitch, moan, whinge, shout and generally express their disgust at the utter farce which is going on. At a time when the UK's armed forces have never been so overstretched, pieces of $hit like Hoon, Brown and Bliar are set to make the final cuts which will cause this little air force finally to collapse in on itself.....

No! Shout, kick, write to anyone you can, but don't roll over and accept this shafting with no more than a whimper. Perhaps a 'One out, all out' frame of mind might make the bug.gers wake up......

I thank the lord I went through training in more enlightened days - and have now left the mob.

Good luck, team.

And I thought the political masters simply set the overall budget and leave to the military masters to decide where to spend. If so why blame the politicians? Try looking at where the cash is actually going and do something about that (or is whingeing simply easier and the politicians don't do your annual assessments). Rumour has it there are more Air Rank than aircraft for a start. Get rid of the inverted pyramid of structure and then you might have some real benefit from the taxpayers cash. Someone please tell me the rumours are wrong.

I think the only reason for people 'moaning' on this site is that they have nobody else that they can vent their frustrations at. If they were to talk to someone about how demoralising this whole ordeal is for all concerned (as I did), then they would get hauled in front of the boss and be told they had a problem with authority (as I did) so this forum is the only semi-anonymous place that they can do that.
All will be revealed tomorrow I guess.

Agree with Flash. There is nowhere else you have your say annoymously.

I wrote to the RAF News about an issue and asked for my name to be withheld. A short time later I had a call from OC PSF asking me to go and have a chat about "a letter in the RAF News".

Seeing that I hadn't said in the letter what unit I was serving at...

Cool Sad State of affairs....

Chaps,
This whole sad affair strike me as sad in a couple of ways:

1. All the newbies has seen over the last few years is hold-less career/training progress - REMEMBER - it has never really been like that!!

2. What real company would chop/curtail a unit for being needed and used?
The real reason for all this is to save the money spent on ORACLE/VERITAS and TELIC.....did the RAF/MoD order those ops?? Methinks not!!
- Take it from Tony's wage packet!! (or just sack the useless B%^&ard)

Good luck all involved in tomorrow's farce,

Unlce G

That was unlucky, didnt you remind OC 2 Hour Lunch that you are entitled to your own opinion.

Did you ask why they had seen the letter in the RAF news, but still
systematically loose their own forms and paperwork?

Couldn't disagree more with the likes of WT and Spugford. This site is for Military Aircrew, and these kids are our future. It's bad enough getting chopped through training when you know you can't make the grade, but having worked so hard, competed and achieved those grades, and now be waiting to hear if your dream has just been smashed because of appalling planning and poor management, must be hard to take on the chin. Just put yourselves in their shoes.
If they want to start 10 new threads they should be allowed to.
If there aren't any kindly faces for them at Linton, at least lets give them kindly threads.

Totally agree Anton. Morale on my Sqn ( and I assume most others) is very low at present. The option of whingeing/moaning/griping/telling it as it is, just does not exist. Some have tried and have had the old " we are a can-do organisation, get on with it" thrown back at them(and worse). If the boys and girls in the Trg system and the frontline want to have somewhere to go and let it all out without fear of any comeback, here is as good a place as any.
The fact that so many threads ARE whinges at the moment says volumes about the way people feel.
