I can understand why people would be a little touchy at the suggestion of putting personally identifiable photos of service men and women on the Internet.
I think the moderator will understand the confusion and hopefully so will the other fine contributors on this forum, and perhaps the original "Military Aircrew Gallery" discussion thread will be re-opened, with a touch less vitriol.

Perhaps "Military Aircraft Gallery" would have raised less eyebrows.
People may be reluctant to put piccies on as said folk would rapidly lose anonymity (even if no mugshots). However, I agree with y'all that it would be a cracking thread.

After posting my idea I realised from the responses I recieved that there may have been a slight confusion! What I meant was for a gallery on the 'Military Aircrew' forum as opposed to a gallery of 'Military Aircrew'.
PPRuNe Pop kindly cleared up the confusion for me in a PM and I understand why my post was closed, so I am sorry for any offence it may have caused.
PPP also gave me a tip of not posting pissed thats probably where the confusion came from!
