Do You Aspire to be an Air Risk?!
With apologies to Vage Rot and his thread "Another Management Waste of Money!!!" where he slated the financial cost of producing that nice glossy The Officers' Career Management Strategy, this made my day so much that I did not want it lost at the bottom of a thread that is fizzling out.
Have a look on page 5 of said glossy brochure. There is a Table that covers the Levels of Management. The Intermediate level, for Gp Capt down to Snr Sqn Ldr, has the stated goal that Officers "Gain broader skills & advise on strategy". It goes on to add that they "Establish potential and credentials of future leaders across a broad spectrum of issues they will encounter at air risk ".
Absolutely priceless. The cost of this booklet was not wasted at all! You too can apsire to be an air risk and join the ranks of those that are already out there!!

Check out page 8.
Career Management and Potential.
"An officer's potential is dictated by the skills displayed at each level and the reported capacity to master skills at the next."
Funny, I always thought that potential depended upon with whom you play Golf or varys directly proportionally to the influence of who you know!

Actually I thought an Officers' potential was dictated by the age at which he/she gets to the next level on the promotion ladder. How many Sqn COs do you know that were older than 43 when they assumed command recently? But of course we are not an ageist organisation are we?! We have Equal Opportunities for all and we are Investors In People aren't we? Yeah right!
