Argo,

I agree - Just go for it if that's what you want to do. Life isn't that bad if you accept that you are in the military and not some namby democracy!! No **** Sherlock, you'll get messed around and spend time away!

Lots of AEoPs whinge about everything (as do Pilots/Navs) but you don't see all that many AEoPs PVR from the mob - so it's either

a. Not that bad
b. They are the sort that can't be AR5eD changing things but just whinge and spoil it for everyone else!

I've been in for 19 years and enjoyed most of it, yes I've been guilty of the odd whinge but that was when I was married with a wife that didn't enjoy it at all. Single for 4 years now and having a party of a life and the 'significant other' is loving it too.

Go for it - you can always leave if you don't like it!

Good Luck

I have at least one former (female) coursemate who was also chopped from JEFTS in 2000 who is now a happy and successful Herc ALM. You can in some circumstances retrain as an NCO but I should think it depends very much on the individual merits of each case. Give it a go - you'll always wonder otherwise. Best of luck!!
