Question Who Are The Bad Guys Now?

In the new World order, who are the real 'Bad Guys'?

The emphasis recently (and rightly so) has been on the War against Terrorism. But what of China, the Ruskies, Saudi, North Korea and the huge instabilities growing in the Middle East, Africa and the Far East.

Or what about the US Ass-kicking foreign policy!

I cant help thinking that we are Walking into a 'Lions Den' of potential conflicts, and should be looking over out shoulder a little more.

Fellow Ppruners, who do you think we should be watching and why?

The Int guys because they should know what is happening but they don't.

So, watch them and fire their backsides out of their comfy chairs when they screw up and get some sharper Int guys in their place so that you can see what is happening in time to react.

Who are the bad guys? Wait, I know the answer to this.

It's those 'rogue nations', isn't it?

You know, the ones who posess WMD and not just WMD programmes.
The ones with over-large, offensively-structured armed forces.
The ones who refuse to abide by UNSC resolutions.
The ones who have conducted unsanctioned military operations against other states.

You know, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Yemen..........

Well who did you think I meant?

Would that have narrowed the field, then?

No, because it would still include All Blacks supporters.

Get serious guys, we're the underdogs this time...like last time and the time before!

England are going to be hard to beat; probably too hard, IMHO.

As for the other enemy? China, without a shadow of a doubt, but probably not for eight to twelve years yet. Plenty of time to sit idle, procrastinate, and live in denial. We should have some more defence cutbacks too, and focus on pretty pink peacekeeping....

Who are the bad guys?

The same as they've always been. Back-stabbing, lying, self-centred, sleaze-ridden, power-hungry, deceitful, two-faced......

Politicians, of course! Who did you think I meant......??

I definitely swing with the Monkey on this one - here we are, stuck in portacabins at the end of a desert runway in a Detached Operating Base - with a Dob Commander, a 2ic (Deputy Dob?) a DAO (Detached Admin Officer) a pay clerk, a SWO-type person, a "Contracts" Snco, several clerks, MTO Postie, in total, about 50 hangers-on who don't actually do anything except make up rules, paperwork and get in the way of the aircrew and groundcrew.

Here's a great way of saving the Government a massive wedge of money - sack the lot of them, and put us up in hotels, on rates. At the moment we're not even getting LOA or PIE, because there is a "Welfare Package" out here. Welfare package? Oh, you mean the 20 minute per week phonecall and (slow) internet access. I'd rather take the money, thank you. No more contractors, caterers, RAF Police, MT, Scribblies. Just productive flying, by professionals who are more than capable of looking after themselves.

My top three categories of bad guys (in order of irritation):

Scribblies
MAMS
RAF Police

There, I feel better now!

Maybe we should be watching Israel, for their human rights violations, illegal caches of weapons (including Bio & Chem), and other illegal stockpiles? Or is just because they're the US's friends, that they can get away with murder?
