Tornados over Southend!!

There has been a lot of activity by Tornados(i think)over Southend in the past few weeks!
Southend airshow was on the May Bank hol!!!
Are they in for maintenance,or something more akin to 9/11.....being only 30-40 miles or so from London and a decent length of runway!
Any clues?!

They were off to displays in the area.

Also loads of hawks/tucanos/jags at Biggin recently. Oh - and a Nimrod at Gatwick

Nothing sinister (unless the CinC is using his CAP budget at airshows!!)

That would explain why I had to work a Nimrod into Gatwick. Pity the nice aircrew thought that they could fly OAT to Gatwick and that we all had to do all that extra work to file him a civil plan!

25 Sqn are affiliated to Folkestone I believe, hence their participation in the Shepway Airshow. Nothing unusual, they perform there each year if poss.

Can someone explain why the Nimrod was being painted at LGW? Don't they have any facilities up at Kinloss?
