Pilots On Hold

Reading previous thread, People says that there are about 250 pilots on hold due to the lack of training facilities, slots, etc..... I can understand

Can anyone tell when the problem will be solved ? It has been like this for sometime already and we haven't heard any good news

ITO 14th May 2012 18:55

250 ? I don't know, but it seems to be quit a large number, no ? In that case, we are not in for loooooooooong !

Global01 14th May 2012 19:03

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

YUP 250... Well i think much more are on hold...Consider NTSO + FTSO + FTFO + FO + DEC, Nationals, etc ...........

What i think that 250 only NTSO and FTSO..... God knows !!

cccc 15th May 2012 10:29

The reason...

Hi All,
I talked yesterday to a friend of mine who started 2 months ago in Doha. And this what he said...
QR recently hired about 140 type rated guys/girls from Spanair. They took all the sim slots in Gatwick/Stockholm/Toulouse/Doha/Bahrein.
He just spent the last 2 months doing not much, except studying on his own, sort other stuff out... Apparently there is a lot of administration to be done when arriving. He for instance starts in 2 weeks time his A320 type rating in Bahrein.
Those 140 pilots were put on top of the stack already hired.
So whoever got the good news... As soon as they are finished with the training... we are next. When? I don't know. But we will get there...
As said a lot of times by now... be patience.
Cheers,
cccc

AVIATION REFUGEE 15th May 2012 21:46

Nearly 3 months ago, I received an email, stating that I passed the assessment as captain on WB, and that I have to wait 6 to 8 weeks to receive my fleet allocation and the job offer, that I had to sign within 2 weeks.....Since then, time passed, no contact with them, still waiting....but not for long, cause something extra came on.....:ok:
I wonder, how they are operating, when they do not respect their fellow pilots..:ugh:

Cat3BNoDH 16th May 2012 07:14

hey refugee

Your situation is very odd, because me and my group interviewed for DEC about 3 months ago and we all already received the email stating that we passed the selection (that took 3 weeks), the job offer and fleet allocation ( took 4 weeks for the last guy who received it ) and one has already is DOJ ( beginning of July on the 777 ).
If I were you I'll give them a call and check the spam box on my email because too much time has passed, my friend!

Good luck

Aviation Refugee....

I am in the same position but I have a contract signed returned and acknowledged but the start date I am starting to believe will never arrive.

It has taken ages this whole process, some people seem to much more fortunate in waiting far less time.

CAT3B

Those timelines are a lot shorter than the ones I know about from colleagues with a couple of exceptions. All the 3 weeks for good news 6 weeks for contract, 2-3 weeks for start date can be multiplied by 2 from my experience so far..

Sorry to hear that!!
Maybe we`ve been lucky, and we're the exception.
Or thats maybe some of us are TR and will have a shorter CCQ, and other were available to start any given day...

Good luck to you all

postern 16th May 2012 17:12

it is definitely got nothing to do with being available immediately. I and numerous others have been available since November.

Always the case when one is unemployed, easier to get a job when you are in one despite having thousands of hours.

We are all waiting apart from a couple of lucky ones, all interviewed Jan and Feb.

Good job I have a sense of humour because my patience ran out in April!!
