BY the end of this year or at least at july 2008 they will change the policy for sure.It will be around 2000 hs and you will be able to reapply in 6 to 12 ,monhts if fail.
Too many routes and acft and no crew at all. |
do U think flying 500 extra hours using autopilot made someone a better pilot
|
According to an engineer and a clerk, it does.

do U think flying 500 extra hours using autopilot made someone a better pilot There has to be a line drawn somewhere. You prefer landings to hours? Manual to automated flying? I's all debatable but in this specific case it's EK's call. They will eventually lower the requirement, but i'm afraid it will still be hours. |
what minimums do u think
how much lower will they drop do u reckon:ugh:
|
KRUGERFLAP i've been hearing that for the last 2 years yet the mins still stay at 4000...
|
good info but??
umm was wondering about how many tech questions are there??? :ugh:
also ive read that not much weight in the questions or sim infact it's the TOTAL overall process!! mind you of course tech exam and sim eval are very important |
If I remember correctly, the minimum requirement of 4000TT is there since 2003. Before I think it was 2500TT.
I am sure you can find FO's with a few thousand hours who are more than able to to the job, are willing to come here and wait a few years longer to get their upgrade. If they have spent most of their time in a "glass cockpit", I don't see any reason not to let them try the interview. We have FO's now that have a few hundred hours sitting in the right seat, and they can do the job. Rgds, Twieke |
30 questions 30 mins. Don't get too worked up on it... Sim

i imagine what you do with your money is your Biz := Dont spend it all at once now:=

emirates interview
looking for emirates technical question can someone help
thanks :) |
The tech exam is not worth styudying for.
It's a multiple choice exam on basic ATPL stuff. While not strictly allowed they seem to leave the room while you are doing the test, and the group tends to help each other out discretly. It's also not weighted very much in the whole process, so if you've been flying long enough to meet their minimums you'll have no issues passing it. Don't waste your time studying for it imho. |
Agree completely with tbaylx. It's almost a non event. No more figuring out density alts, TODA definitions,
First day is a nail biting experience waiting for the call at your hotel to see if you'll come back the next day. K |
ek interview
yes i can conferm they leave the room during the test, they come back after 30 min

New EK Selection
I have heared that emirates will start with a new selection process from now on. Can anyone give me some information about the process.
Is there still a group discussion ? Does someone know something abou the ICAO English test ? Which tech questions and which skill test do i have to expect. Thanks :O |
update
about the english exams i heard its straight forward, if ur a native speaker is a some what confirmation assesment "meaning" one on one interview on the phone or something like that and a aviation english test. Is it multi choice not too sure but there are grades from 1-6 but let wait to see
|
Are u guys saying that during the emirates tech section the reps leave
the room?? why are they viewing u from out side to assess yah?? or is it a formalitie that they leave to try to get all off u some what working together ???? 30 questoion i heard it was more can anyone confirm that? how long is the sim checkout:ugh: |
Yes they leave the room...no it's not a conspiracy. Our group silently did the exam individually then traded questions at the end on the ones we weren't sure about. Each exam is the same or similar questions, but in different orders, so you can't all put "b"for question #25 for example. it's about 30 questions and nothing at all to worry about.
The sim is a visual circuit to a landing followed by a V1 cut with a S/E MA and G/A. When i did the assessment we weren't allowed to use A/P..i heard a rumour that's changed now. |
Ek Interview Book
If anyone has the XYZ Interview book and wants to sell it, I would be keen to buy it from you.
I know people say the tech quiz isn't much, but I have friends who think pilots who think pilots should be able to quote "theory" of lift and what not. What's hard depends on what you know :) Any PM's would be appreciatted |
