Well I hope it is for some unfortunate pilots that are unemployed with a family to support. Fingers crossed if there are any in this situation.

In which case you can apply for the First Officer position - plenty of food on the table then.

Cheers Guys for your "Polar"opinions, but no explanations or theories as to my original question,

Why have DEC applications been removed from the EK website?, and why can those of us who have submitted applications for DEC, no longer access them?

MosEisley 26th January 2013 18:04

What I hear is that they filled all of the current DEC needs. It was always going to be a short term option for the company. Always the option to apply as FO.

electricdeathjet 26th January 2013 22:10

Because I have already applied for the DEC position I have to wait 12 months before I can re-apply for an FO position, strange...

electricdeathjet 27th January 2013 06:58

I did mention it to them in the interview, but my application will be frozen to the position I applied for for 12 months. Never mind I will wait impatiently for some news, inshallah.

crgmacha 8th February 2013 19:30

same with me...I asked to be moved to the next call due my flt schedule...and then... no more news. waiting and waiting!!

SkullFlyer 9th February 2013 17:30

Do they still interviewing DECs ? Heard that the approval rate in less the 10% and even the guys that have passed in the last semester of 2012 still on a holding pool and maybe will never make.

Pin Head 11th February 2013 03:49

Any FO selection in the coming months?

falcon10 14th February 2013 21:51

Latest word relayed to me from inside is 2000 apps shortlisted for 100 remaining positions in 2013.

PSP in AMS

Hi everybody,

as of today PSP in AMS starts again. Could anybody participating say anything about it?

Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately colour vision will be a problem.

I read recently that passing a lantern test is sufficient if you can't do the plates. Is that still true at Emirates?

ohshit 25th February 2013 15:27

Hey guys

Lantern is old school JAA. Now its CAD (colour assessment and diagnosis). It's a computer based assessment, which is more accurate. If you fail the plates and have a lantern test passed. They'll still send you to the airline that can't be mentioned doctor who apparently are authorised to conduct this test.
45 mins later then your done. New PS4

Cheers

Anyone joined from other ME airlines or is this not favourable?

FMSPEED 19th April 2013 17:05

Does anybody know if they accept EJET time for FO entry? or just Airbus and Boeing time ?

RexBanner 21st April 2013 05:51

FMSPEED yes for the purposes of the application they accept it however I am led to believe that they are only interested right now in guys with Boeing and Airbus ratings. You'll be short listed potentially to then never hear anything for months whereas guys who are on the Boeing/Airbus tend to get the call in a much shorter timeframe. Silly really as you could be Boeing rated and then they stick you on an Airbus course or vice versa. Not quite sure how that is any different from having an Embraer rating and doing a Boeing/Airbus conversion.

tonker 22nd April 2013 17:36

I know it's different for everyone, but is having "short listed " on your application page a standard computer generated response, or do I actually have a hope?

It's only been a month since i applied and having recently visited the UAE for a weekend I,m now already in a naive end of term mode! Can anyone shed any light on an average wait for an interview?

In the mean time my BMI battle continues, and I'm winning;)

SOPS 25th April 2013 14:25

Not that I know of

I was wondering the same thing, I don't think mine said "shortlisted" before, but it does now. I just updated it with my E170/175 time, will see if that helps.
