Etihad Pilots

I'm trying to answer a question for my boss.

What percentage of pilots on Etihad are from the West i.e. US/Europe/NZ/Aus etc?

Cheers,
JD

J D 8th November 2010 12:08

Ok..sorry didn't mean to be funny or offend...how about Expats?

Saltaire 8th November 2010 12:10

Fairly low percentage I would say. Many malaysians, and others asians backgrounds from what I hear on the radio.

thegypsy 8th November 2010 12:14

saviboy you are not very savy as the western world includes NZ and Australia generally:D

saviboy 8th November 2010 12:15

no worries... I think it depends on the fleet. on the 777 I think there might be more Asian guys, on 320: more guys from US/ south and central America/ Europe with also a few guys from NZ/AUS. I guess 330 and 340 fleets are more balanced though probably not too many Americans as most are on the 320 I believe.
If you are looking for exact numbers, maybe somebody more informed can chime in.

In the contemporary political and cultural context, the Western World generally refers to the nations of the Americas, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Israel, and South Africa.

wasnt aware of that. I guess when referring to western culture it makes sense.

We DO learn interesting things on Pprune once in a while. :ok:

By the way, Saviboy is not related to savvy. If i were savvy I wouldn't be working where I work now.

With all the crap happening right now at Etihad, I must say, I give them credit for diversifying the pilot group pretty well, especially in the training department. There are no "gangs" if you will. Fairly evenly split (at least on the bus). Maybe before on the B777 or the A330/340, but it seems like that's gone or going (for now anyway). We have people from all over the world. 320/330/340 is a bunch of everyone. 777 seems to be a bit more Asian.

I think you should ask the HR dept.

Why would your "Boss" need this info?

FlyByWire1 8th November 2010 15:23

MrMachfivepointfive 8th November 2010 16:21

People here have been pretty forthcoming in trying to answer your question JD. In return would you be so kind to tell us who your boss is, or at least why he needs this info, then at least you might get more of a response

a345xxx 9th November 2010 07:01

I think the question you are asking is what is the breakdown of Caucasian pilots in EY.

Chandler Bing 9th November 2010 12:37

Who cares, since anywhere pilots come from, they all do the same mistake.... Joining EY.....

thegypsy 9th November 2010 15:31

EYPilot777
