If I tell you I would have to shoot you

Just what makes you think they are up and running.

The last date I heard was 16th October 2007. Better to put the year in, just in case......

It's definitely better to launch in time for the so called Winter Schedule.

Henny 6th October 2007 14:08

probably because he did not agree with the the employment of so many green Chiefs!!!!!!!!!!:*

N.I.H.

I am slowly realising what so many have realised in the past N (ot) I(invented) H(ere), is the key to the ME.

Am I stupid for not realising this sooner.

Don't bother to reply.

Cubana

With your 2 post on pprune you're surely keen to know what's cooking around the site. How about getting started by reading this thread and you'll find out what aircraft they are operating ;) And you'll find that there are no indications that the -800 are coming (finally). Maybe Airbusses are coming finally  The only thing that's for sure in RAK is the high temperatures.

Gulfstreamaviator 7th October 2007 15:16

Not high today

That is not even certain today, only 36C at the RAK intergalactic space port.

The only certainty about UAE is the uncertainty.

Almost forgot, the RAK airport Ground services manager left today, and tomorrow so will the MD of the charter wing.

Gulfstreamaviator,

The MD of the charter wing? Are you talking about the new business operation that was launched when the Hamra Air Hawker 800 was taken off the AOC and put into a new ops together with a GV (?) If I am on the right track here - - - was that ops headed by a German as MD, and the old Hamra Air Flight Ops Director still holding the same position?

Not that I am surprised when I here people leaving up there, but what happened at the airport and with this MD?

Gulfstreamaviator 8th October 2007 04:13

Two and the same

Thats as I understand the current situation, but the FOD has been appointed as "the voice"" of Potty.

As to the airport, well the skip has been emptied, but still they have resident visa run pax, sleeping in the coffee shop.

RAK International Airport, an airport where you can feel international aviation, even in the coffee shop :ok:

nnsa 17th October 2007 15:38

RAK Airways

why dont you try another porofitable airways like Jazeera Airways , as the are seeking F/O and captains for their A320

fractional 27th October 2007 22:36

Today is already 28th October... The IATA so called Winter schedule starts everywhere else in the commercial aviation world. Is RAK Airways starting? Will I see it from the top of the new Burj? They have got a new look now...:D

737BBJ 28th October 2007 09:16

fractional,

winter schedules are for airlines with scheduled services. Services you can read about in a time-table. It is close to two years since they started their airline project, and they are still not a scheduled carrier with a time-table. Will they ever be a scheduled airline that can issue a winter schedule? Your guess is as good or bad as mine.

Itswindyout 16th November 2007 05:31

If I was a betting man

I would be putting my money on RAK Airways not making their promised November 28th start for scheduled flights.

Did I miss their press handout at the Air Show, promoting the new services.?

Who will offer to be the next Chief. ?

windy in the sand

Yossarian 30th November 2007 13:52

So, having changed their initial flight from Beirut to Dhaka, due to political unrest in BEY apparently, can anyone tell us how it went?

ShinjukuHustler 30th November 2007 17:09

Rak Airways

Was at the DXB show recently, no sign of anything related to RAK Airways although there was a stand for DanaJet (Hamra Air in disguise).
EVeryone and their mother had a stand there and I found it odd that RAK did not. I guess advertising potties are more important to potty than advertising his airline.
I bet the toilets on board will be nice though!
:ugh:

Gulfstreamaviator 1st December 2007 10:27

1 CC for every 4 pax

Or so I was told.

But it can only get better.

Silver jet have seperate potties for man, and the other sex.

So I can only surmise that RAK, has one per pax.

As an aside: saw a RAK airways staff member with a HAMRA operations manual yesterday.....is another change in the air.?

Gulfstreamaviator 2nd December 2007 16:20

almost correct

He walked, and was not fired. Perhaps pushed slightly.

RAK had a full load on one sector yesterday, but today I think it was 7 out and 22 back.....

737BBJ 3rd December 2007 05:01

Why would he walk? A man who all his career has been working for, and sheltered by the brass in Ras Al Khaimah. A man who survived when the RAK management sidelined him last year. That part of the management were later "sent packing". Wonder if he has been told there is another position for him somewhere around.

So what is Dana doing about the top of their pyramid? They are in need of an Accountable Manager and a Post Holder Flight Operations. Or is the Dr. Accountable Manager for Dana too?

Full load and not so full. Well, in scheduled service it is all about cabin factors. It hurts in the finance department when you are only flying 7 souls on a 757. It might help a bit if they where all 1st Class passengers ;)

Gulfstreamaviator 3rd December 2007 09:22

1st Class.....

they were all construction workers coming going to work...I suspect all in house but can not confirm.

as to walked, I understand that he realised that he was actually being treated worse than before the promotion...and I also suspect no pay rise to reflect the extra duties.....

In techical terms am I right in thinking that Potty is the accountable manager, and thus responsable for all the regulatory indiscressions....
