Well, the contracts were issued to the prospective employees about 2 weeks ago, medicals and final adjustments are being made as we speak.
Looks like not long now before a few of the engineers disappear. Think EK will notice? Doubt it but the guys that are left may be working a bit harder as someone is away to get the next ER. Then not to forget the next one next month, and the one after, and the one after, and.............. Lots of aircraft, not enough blokes - not to fly them, not to fix them. Airline pressurising people to get aircraft memded but no spares to do it with, not time to do it and not enough guys to do it. WIll prove interesting over the next few months when a few of us leave. Rumours of about 4-5 people leaving or left!! Only have to look at the IVNs to figure out that they started looking for replacements as long ago as when this topic was posted!! Also rumours of MAS coming back for more!!! Oh and the spares situation is just as the others before me have described it!! Seems like a tribal village running the spare parts show, with kickbacks of course!! Go figure mate!!

I guess a few of our engineers might have been scared off from going abroad, because their mechanicing skills ain't what they used to be. I wonder how many could do a Wing repair as good as this :D :D

Apparently there is a four foot high pile of applications though, so we too have been told that we can leave at any time. You are right, only one has left, though a few more are rumoured to be on the way out. Most guys are too tired to care :sad: |
