QR Cargo B777F pole ding in ORD

Rumours that all 4 crew on the QR B777F which hit the pole in ORD have been dismissed.

Please tell me this isn’t true.

I’d say there’s more chance of snowfall this week in Doha than any of them keeping their job.

Whenever something like this happens in Ek, I just ask if they got to keep their provident fund ?

Maybe ABKR can start another 'successful' lawsuit and blame o'hare ATC this time...
Poor fella's, but the price you pay for working in the ME. No surprises....

Seeing how the original thread has been removed, and there is no avherald record, someone wants this incident kept quiet. Pretty safe to assume that anyone in the flightdeck at the time is busy packing right now.

internet does not forget

How many people can be driving a 777 at once... how did four pilots end up being responsible?

If it's a four crew flight, all crew would be in the cockpit for take off and landing and therefore all responsible under QR management.

What happened there? Did they get into any wrong taxiway? (wingspawn or something restricted)? Lose the pathway? May someone explain?

If the route was DOH-ATL-ORD-DOH what are you going to do? Leave 2 crew in Atlanta and tell them to make their own way home?

Qatar would sack the guy who put the pole up if they could.

no it's not, most of the cargo rotation are just 2 men crew as the aircraft flies multiple sectors doable with 2 pilots, also in this case the flight to atlanta was not from doha.
when they don't ned extra pilot this can also be dedheaded to homebase

Firing the non operating crew is a bit like being a tourist in Thailand. When your wallet gets stolen it's your fault. The cops figure if the farang was not in the country the crime wouldn't happen.

Apparently, the lamp post was installed on this location just before the incident by Airbus.
