Have you tried it yet? I did and by the second click on Henry's video it crashed completely.
EK IT at it's best once again. Maybe i need to re-install Explorer to make it work. :ugh:

In the mobile interface it's far down, under "Connect", click "Outlook"

On the desktop interface you can see "Outlook" straight away down right also under Connect

Top left, click the 9 small squares (in a square shape) left of "Office 365."

Don't like the roster on one line (crowded) and as always, it's SLOW (normal for anything EGIT) but otherwise some nice functionality. An option to add a quick link to for each individual's most used functions would be nice (e.g. "My Quick-links")

The only question worth asking is "Why did they change it?" Was the old one not working? Did it not allow crews to access data successfully?
Seems like a total waste of time and money..........................:ugh:

So on first opening: The most important part of our lives - ROSTER - relegated to a separate click with very poor readability while news etc (380 Nice - WTF?!) - gets pride of place.

Slightly off topic but anyone knows if they did something to allow Crew Pulse to be installed in at least 2 devices instead of only one ? Just for couples to stay in touch of course

Man they released an updatr for one of the programs we use. Almost impossible to do our jobs. After 14 days our clever IT guys decided to remove the update.

Well that's just great.

Roster page just continuously reloads. Can't even acknowledge any changes. Doesn't work with Chrome (the company approved browser) on OSX.

Now if EGIT could put it back like it was before they "fixed" it, that'd be great.

The roster view is completely awful. Unreadable and unusable. I cannot understand or see what I am doing and when. Great function when on reserve. And why isn't the roster the first thing you see? I don't care about the company news, just show me my roster in a usable format. Completely useless

Just tried navigating the new portal.

It is abysmal.

Poorly designed, not at all user friendly and has destroyed what little respect I had left for the people that produce this rubbish.

No doubt some oxygen thief has managed to keep his cushy job on the back of this major step backwards - at great inconvenience to the rest of us of course. But that doesn't matter, does it!

No, when asked they stated one device because you are not supposed to be giving anyone else access to your epin (not even your family)

I for one don't care, if it matters that much I send them a whatsapp. they can also use the company website to check arrival times or even flightaware etc...

Sick of spam messages from people selling crap who got my number from their boyfriend/wife/friend who had access to iCrew and gave (sold?) all the contact info to them.

Now they have even managed to get nightclubs sending me 'offers' to my company email.... wtf....

This POS site is......well can't even find the right words. Can't get on eSwap, or seniority list, or other numerous apps/sites. And this is with both Chrome and Safari. Redirect, Redirect, Redirect. You know what, pals....I got your redirect right here. This and my EPT that is sitting in my closet, that I refuse to use until it's mandatory. Man, the clowns are in full swing over there. We've messed with their rosters, we have for the last five years cheated them out of their leave, we've not given them a pay raise to even match inflation here. And they still come. Ok, let's just "foul" with them some more. I swear I think "they" get a kick out of screwing with us, and laughing at the Costa. BTW, Costa was full this morning. Ok, rant over....going for an adult beverage.

Just tried to access GABI from home for my flight today. Redirected to another log in page which accepted my log in credentials but then refused to load and just hung permanently.

So, the new, improved portal is now making it impossible for me to prepare for a flight in my own time. I won't bother again.

Well done EK. I wonder how much this great step backwards has cost you?

During the start-up phase of FZ (early in 2009), I once had the displeasure to have to deal with EK IT... and all I can say is what a bunch of totally out-of-touch buffoons!

E.g. their proposal for maintaining the data on FZ's EFB's was to clone each tough-book's HDD with a master / updated HDD (a solution for which they intended to charge FZ about $100k USD per annum for supporting just 30 tough-books; plus the cost of 2x additional HDD's per tough-book). It would have been both an expensive & **** solution, though I believe it's what they have/had implemented for the EFB's at EK (go figure?!).
Appalled at their proposed solution, your's truly went out and procured a server and set it up so that it would automate the EFB updating process by simply plugging an RJ45 cable into the tough-book (and then utilising something known as MS-Active Directory Server, with it also being able to handle the simultaneous updating of as many tough-books as one could ever envisage, and no procurement or swapping of HDD's required).
The cost of my solution was a one off charge of $5k USD (i.e. for server hardware & software, plus a switch, and some RJ45 cables) and I believe FZ used that said same solution (of mine) until it all got replaced by iPads some years later.

The continuous reloading of the pages is caused by cookies being blocked by the browser. In Chrome, first sign in to the portal, then click on the cookie icon top right in the address bar (the one with a little red cross in it). Select 'Show cookies and site data', then click the 'Blocked' tab and then select each cookie in turn and click the 'Allow' button on the dialog box. That fixed it for me.

So in Summary:
-We have a new portal which is a disaster and should never have been released.
-We have a bidding system full of idiotic rules
-Both HD and JA are leaving at the same time, both GCAA required posts (I think)
- The surface tablets are a falling short and no one knows what the current policy is for these devices. Are they even approved by the GCAA for flight deck use (without a docking mount)
- We have a training department which is now scheduling PPCs in the middle of the night, when was the last time Cpt MM went to work at three in the morning and put his job on the line. (Has he ever taken an EK PPC?)


An utter disaster all round,

Bidding system with idiotic rules? Who knows what restrictions are currently there, what we do know is there are far less restrictions now than 6 months ago. It's an improvement. Embrace it.

HD and JA leaving at the same time. Yes, but both for very different reasons. As for post holders, MM and H al H have taken on that liability. If you'd bothered to read the newsletters and fleet facts, that would have told you.

Tablet policy has not changed since inception. Only one to be used operationally at a time on the flight deck. What's so confusing with that? It's not GCAA certified yet which is why it's still on trial!

As for the PPC's at night, yes I agree, not ideal. Wouldn't everyone prefer to have one at 11am but in case you failed to realise, we operate a 24hr airline with aircraft that depart at 0300am. Putting your job on the line in the sim? Well, at least that's all it is. On the aircraft, it's putting lives on the line. 400 plus. If you feel you can't handle flying at night, and by defacto, training at night, join Ryanair.

Wow, Harry. Speechless, I am. YOU'LL GET USED TO IT. Let's see. We've gotten used to increased hours, increase in hours for productivity pay, gotten used to Lido vs. Jepps, used to only 30 days leave, used to moving out of accommodations we've lived in for years.....it's all been said before.

Do you honestly believe that if we did our jobs any where near the ineptitude of the IT department we would still be employed.

Airlines around the world are dumping Surface as an EFB because of continued issues. Well get used to it. Because EK knows best.

There are numerous items on the portal that can't be accessed. I've written, and I get a very nice automated reply, thank you for your input. No solution, just garbage. But we'll get used to it.

Personally, I'm sick and tired of crap they throw our way and a mindset that they'll get used to it. I'm not "embracing it", I'm leaving. This clown outfit has finally filled my buckets, not because of what they do, but by colleagues with a mindset like yours. Don't support your fellow pilots, but accept willy nilly what these clowns throw at us. "Embrace" it.

I've read some pretty inane things written on the prune, and I've probably written some, but this one takes the cake. Just accept it, huh Harry. All those CRM courses didn't seem to get through to you.....you'll get used to it, embrace it. Geez.

Do you normally get three 3am starts in a row Harry without any controlled rest allowed? While NCC has control of our rostering we are fecked.

To have a highly advertised new crew portal so poorly thought about and introduced shows different expectations of work quality the company has between office dwellers and aircrew.

So if I read your post correctly...If you agree with the company and operation, the way things are run, given that you are the end user of the product and on the front line then you a re professional.

If you do not and speak out against it, then you are unprofessional? Really? Thats a pretty stupid thing to say, wouldn't you agree? I believe what the posters are communicating here is how bad that new FOIP really is and how remiss the company was to release it before proper testing and input from the end user, IE these very same pilots.

Was there any input requested from the pilot group...NO. That in itself is part of the many problems this company faces and is another indicator of how and why they are in the position they are in now.
