Qatar talent pool FO
Hello everyone, I had qatar interview in july(2016) one week later I received an e-mail confirming I was approved, some days ago I received an other e-mail informing to me that I have been put in the hold pool. The other guys (had the interview on the same day) already received their doj, any of you in the same situation? How long are you waiting? I applied to Boeing, FO position. My type: B737. Total hours: 3300.
|
Same situation, June, 737, hmmm around 4300 TT
|
Just a guess , but maybe they received a bunch of Type rated pilots or a lot more experience and they are trying to capitalize on that. EK has been doing that for years. I would not worry they will call .
|
Same here in the pool .. June 737 4400tt.. Other guy that got DOJ was of 757 for december start.

Good news!!!
Good news:
Qatar Airways CEO Al Baker Planning Large Aircraft Order soon. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-08-31/qatar-airways-ceo-al-baker-planning-large-aircraft-order-soon |
Hey, No news or updates from Qatar???
|
Posting on this topic instead of the other one, since this is an specific matter.
I've been through assessment on late September. Received an approval e-mail one week later putting me on talent pool. I'm FO, 737NG TR and have heard about Airbus and 777 TR guys receiving job offer to join on December and January. Apparently queue is a bit slower for NTR and 737 guys. Did anyone on talent pool have received good news lately? |
Nothing yet, for me
|
hello guys! same in here, swimming in the pool since the end of august. I am coming from the 737 as well... i'll post if i have any update.
Good luck! |
Hello.
Also in the Pool since December. 737ng with 1300 on Type. 1500 TT Anyone has got an update recently? |
Apparently most of the talent pool is for the 737 TR people, as Qatar have not apparently received any Max orders yet , and some of the 737 people who have given start date are jumping to the 777
|
I thought that the 737Max will be not for Qatar. That they ordered them for other airlines like meridiana? That's what I was reading online.
Yes apparently it depends on the experience you have.. |
Yes, they will be used for QR's foreign investment in Meridiana but not all have been committed, puts pressure on Airbus to deliver the NEO's. MAny of the a320 orders have been converted to A321's as well....slow all around (for cadets, NTR and TR pilots) until QR gets fixed delivery dates i guess...
|
As far as I know Qatar does not have 737 so is that mean all of the 737 TR pilots will move to the 777 and the 787
|
Yes Qatar hires for 787/777....only Boeings they have.
They have been hiring people without 777 type if they have time on similar type...737,757,767,747 etc.... |
looking for Lordvic
Hi i am looking for a pilot that works at Qatar airways,
I lost his buisness card. I hope someone knows him and wants to bring me in contact with him. All i know is his name Lordvic (don't know if that is even front or back) and that he is a pilot at Qatar airways. I hope someone can help thank you |
Hi guys. Anyone from here: type rated 737 and in the talent pool received a DOJ?
|
The last email I got from them..
''We cannot confirm nor estimate a joining date at the moment, but hopefully by the end of January we will have clarity of the manpower requirements for this Financial Year. As soon as we do, we will contact you with a proposed date based on the manpower needs and your notice period and interview date.'' |
Snap, same generic email to me too
|
When did you guys pass the selection process? Any idea of how many swimming, and for how long?
|
Any updates from people in the pool with a joining date? Does anyone know how many people are in the pool currently?
|
I've heard about guys with joining date to june, 767 rated.
Me and other 737 drivers are still swimming... |
Hey guys,
I'm also swimming in the pool since the end of November. Still no news... TR 737NG 6500TT. 4 Months notice period. |
Don't worry they are still recruiting full speed and expanding. I think that the reason for the pool is the training capacity that cannot keep up with the expansion. Big numbers of new joiners every week.
|
Did the selection in late November and just got a start date in early June. Exactly on my notice period. Type rated A330. Must be an Airbus thing. :ok:
|
Just got an email from QR - I'm starting in July on the 777.
|
Congrats flyjeff!
|
Cool. Congrats. So just that you can comply with your notice period. 😊
|
Thanks guys! I applied as FO. Good luck to all the others still waiting, hope you get your date soon too..
|
FLYJEFF, CONGRATS, FOR HOW LONG WERE YOU ON THE POOL??? When did you have your interview??????
|
I was in there for 2 months. I had the interview in November.
|
Experience x Type x Interview date
Congrats on folks getting a date of join!
Considering the latest guys with a DOJ, I can suppose: Airbus queue is going faster than Boeing's. Also, those more experienced or with widebody experience are joining first. It's not an absolute rule of course, but seems they are taking these factors into account. Is great to see things are moving forward! Think we'll all soon leave the pool. |
I have to agree with above... depends on current needs etc..,, but I have seen several very experienced captains start within weeks of interviewing while less experienced pilots are floating in pool
|
An ex-colleague of mine... interviewed in October and started early last month - so 2months wait. He was an FO on the A320 and was offered the same at QR. He could've just been at the right place at the right time (and he had 1months notice).
It has been mentioned that how well you do during the assessment might also influence how quickly you're pulled out the pool. Anyway, you'll all get your chance. Plenty of new aircraft still to be delivered.

Just an article about deliveries 2017 |
Congrats to those with DOJ. I interviewed in NOV 2016 still waiting join date. A320 rated.
|
Anybody know if they plan ratings on the 787 this year?
|
Talent Pool
Congratulations on passing.
I went for the the assessment on 1st and 2nd of Dec and still swimming in the pool. B737 rated with 2000 hours on type and 3 month notice period. Looks like there still quite a few poeple on the Boeing list so I guess we need to be patient for a few more month.:ugh: |
